Middle East Update

Updated 20/03/26

We are currently monitoring the evolving situation across the Middle East and the latest guidance issued by Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

We are currently monitoring the situation across the Middle East and the latest guidance issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (FDA).

As of 1 March, the FDA advises against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain.

FOR CUSTOMERS CURRENTLY IN THE UAE OR QATAR

The majority of our customers have now returned safely to the UK. For those who remain in destination, our priority continues to be supporting your return home.

We are working closely with our partner airlines as more flights begin to operate and will continue to secure travel arrangements as options become available.

Customers will be contacted directly with updated travel plans; there is no need to contact us unless your circumstances change.

In the meantime, the current FDA advice is that individuals in the UAE and Qatar remain indoors and shelter in place as a precautionary measure. Please follow local guidance, remain in your hotel or accommodation, and avoid non-essential travel.

FOR CUSTOMERS DUE TO TRAVEL TO THE UAE OR QATAR OR TRANSIT THROUGH

Due to airspace restrictions in parts of the region, flights to and from the UK have been impacted and will experience delays or cancellations.

If you are due to travel to, or transit through, the UAE or Qatar on or before April 7, our pre-travel team will contact you ahead of your departure date to discuss your options. We are working through bookings in departure date order.

If you would prefer to speak with us sooner, please call 01 693 7700 .

Please note we are currently receiving a high volume of calls and there may be a delay in answering. We appreciate your patience while our teams assist customers.

Middle East Conflict: Information for customers due to travel

Reviewed: 13/03/26

We’d like to reassure customers that their safety and wellbeing remain our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East, as well as the latest guidance issued by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

There is currently no DFA advice against travel to the destinations where we are operating. Holidays are continuing as planned, and customers in resort are enjoying their breaks as normal.

We continually review all DFA updates, and if any changes to travel advice affect upcoming holidays, we will contact impacted customers directly. TUI will never operate holidays to any destination or region where the DFA advises against all but essential travel.

For the latest official information, customers can refer to the DFA Travel Advice website.
